Anvil is a rare metal band that is world renowned for being a sad (yet slightly humorous) contradiction.
Despite the fact that the Canadian trio are incredibly talented musicians with decades worth of experience and albums under their belts, Anvil is most well known for the fact that they are not very well known. Hell, they were even the subject of a good rock documentary (rockumentary?) detailing their commercial struggles in the 2008 film Anvil! The Story of Anvil, but unfortunately, the movie did very little to change public perception about the band's popularity. The RIP a Livecast had a ball lampooning the doc.
However, there is still time for Anvil's fortune to change: Anvil have announced a brand new album titled Pounding The Pavement which will be their 17th(!) studio album. Set to be released on January 19th, 2018, Pounding The Pavement is eleven tracks in length (not counting potential bonus tracks) and will most likely feature all the wild instrumentals and antics one would expect from an Anvil release.
Details on the LP are minimal and forthcoming, we'll keep you posted on any updates.
