As good ol' Jim Ross used to say, "Business is about to pick up." Earlier today, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine took to Twitter to call out Metal Blade CEO Brian Slagel for what Dave pegs is an inaccuracy in Slagel's new book on the history of Metal Blade Records, For The Sake of Heaviness.
Slagel quickly apologized, said maybe he misremembered and Mustaine accepted the apology. We thought that was the end of it. Then, Chris Barnes asked us to hold his bong. Barnes tweeted in response to Mustaine's comments, and I don't believe he was using the Queen's English:
You sir are a FUCKING ASSHOLE.

Mustaine responded the only way one would when called an asshole:
Takes one to know one. https://t.co/i8qrXTlHFt

And Barnes, responded in kind…
Yeah I guess so.. But you're the King of the assholes, enjoy your throne. https://t.co/S1c3w6A4oL

Then I guess fans got involved and Mustaine started going after some of them, while also responding to comments agree with him
I think he’s trying to protect Brian, but completely failed. Ignobility ruined his message. Now he looks like trash and that’s sad. ? https://t.co/WIopGefdeR

Some unknown Seattle musician from metal blade that made a fool out of himself. Big talk from a cell phone. https://t.co/qJj91rqz4a

I shows the true state of mankind when you tell the truth and someone calls you a name. I’ll pray for him. It will make him even madder. https://t.co/pJC5aHxjsP

Barnes concluded by saying he would pray for Dave…

And then Dave, with a sensible response:
Chris what would you do if someone wrote something false about your band? Not that anyone would. Would you speak up or would you do nothing? https://t.co/Tgo2VH1OGK
