In the course of the past year, we've heard two very conflictingĀ things about Limp Bizkit's eternally-coming-out-soon new album Stampede Of The Disco Elephants. Vocalist Fred Durst said that the reason the album wasn't out was that he wasn't happy with it, and then about a year later Durst told the world that the album has been out on the Internet and nobody has found it yet.
Now it seems like the Internet comment might not be true, as guitarist Wes Borland tells NMEĀ that Durst has it and is doing vocals. Borland says he's basicallyĀ at the will of Durst at this point, and whenever DurstĀ is done then he'll pass it back off to Borland, who will be in charge of mixing and editing.
I donāt know. I did what I was going to do on it over the past few years, and I thinkĀ Fredās just trying to figure out what he wants to do. I know heās in a studio working on it right now, but Iām not sure what heās doing.
Iām basically waiting for him to finish something so that I can take it and starting mixing and editing it into whatever itās going to be. We did so many sessions ā thereās 28 or 29 songs, and whatever he chooses out of that to do vocals on, Iāll take that and work on it at my house and turn it into a record.
When asked what the new album sounds like, Borland says it's "like Gold Cobra or Chocolate Starfish. Itās the same sound. Itās not breaking down any new barriers." So yeah, Borland doesn't sound like he's super stoked on the album.
