At this point we might as well dedicate an entire sub-section of this website to rumors about the new Tool album. To recap, drummer Danny Carey recently said he'd like to have the album out by May but knows that's a bit of wishful thinking, though it's definitely coming out this year. Guitarist Adam Jones chimed in and said the music for the album is pretty much done and that Maynard James Keenan is writing lyrics, and Keenan himself offered a cryptic comment that either meant the album isn't coming this summer or that it's titled Not.
We do for certain that the album exists in some capacity, as ex-Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello recently said he'd heard bits and pieces. Now as further confirmation that the new Tool album is actually a reality, we've got Behemoth frontman Nergal, drummer Morgan Ågren (Casualties Of Cool, Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects, etc.), and Aristides Guitars Global AR rep Paul DeMaio all posting a picture of themselves in the studio with Tool after having heard five or six news songs.
All three say the music is instrumental as we've all known, but there's your proof. Tool is actually in the studio, actually recording an album that actually could come out in 2018. Nergal's post has additional pictures from the studio too, if you're looking to see more than just the same photo three times in a row.
