Wow, this week flew by completely. We're still catching up on life in the office after an insane few days at SXSW. In the interim, a lot of new music became available, that we may have missed. We decided to do a quick pre-weekend roundup of all the sweet free tunes available to make your weekend a little less lame:
Agalloch played NYC this week. After seeing them rip it up in Austin, it's awesome to hear they did just the same at their New York stop. NPR has a full stream of the soundboard recording from the show, so if you missed it, you can turn off all the lights, get really high and just pretend you're standing in the back. It'll be worth your time!
Cavalera Conspiracy have posted their full album Blunt Force Trauma on SoundCloud. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, and while I loved their previous release I have my doubts about this one.
Obscura's excellent new album, Omnivium is streaming on their MySpace page. It comes with the Metal Injection stamp of approval! The album hits stores this Tuesday.
Check out this sweet new Periphery track called "Frak The Gods," which originally premiered on Metalsucks, but is now available for streaming on Youtube as well:
Here's a new track from the Devin Townsend Project called "Feather", expected to be on Devy's new album Ghost, due in June along with his other album, Deconstruction:
Amon Amarth must really dig the track "Aerials" by System of A Down. During the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, Johan Hegg sang the song during metal karaoke and now the band is releasing a fully recorded cover of the track as a bonus for fans who pre-order the new Amon album, Surtur Rising, from FYE stores. The trick, of course, is to even be able to find the retailer:
Arsonists Get All The Girls have posted a new track on their Facebook page called "Avdotya" and it kicks ass. The band's new album, Motherland, hits stores May 17th.
Tombs has a new track up on their MySpace page, "Vermillion" from their upcoming release, Path Of Totality which hits stores June 7th.
One more click from Mastodon's Crack The Skye: The Movie has surfaced. This movie is included in the live CD/DVD the band just released:
Finally, check out this killer track from tech greats Gigan, off their forthcoming release Quasi-Hallucinogenic Sonic Landscapes.
