You might recall that Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland and Staind's Aaron Lewis have some unresolved beef. It all stems from an awkward interaction at an airport last year.
Borland ran into Lewis and according to Borland, this was the back and forth:
āHe goes āWhere ya headed?ā And I went āIām going home.ā And he goes āHome?ā and I went āYeah I just visited my parents, Iām going back home to L.A.ā. And for the record Iāve lived in L.A. longer than any other city in my life. He goesā¦Ā AaronĀ looks at me and he kind of turns his chin up and goes āNah man, remember where you came from, Florida is your home, not L.A.. Thatās home.ā
āAnd I just went āFuck you man.ā And I never talked to him again after that.ā
Borland continued, calling Lewis, the writer of such hits as "It's Been A While" and "Mudshovel,"Ā a "disgusting person."
It's been a few months, but Lewis finally responded to Borland's calling him out, while on stage in Las Vegas.Ā The PRPĀ reports Lewis said this:
āIām gonna sing this little ditty. I laid it down back in 1999. I donāt remember, but I do know that I walked into the dressing room ofĀ Limp Bizkit.
āWes Borland, who I love dearly, who obviously has some fucking things to say about me. Fuck that motherfucker! I know that I started this with āI love him dearly,ā because heās part of the whole reason that Iām standing here right now in front of you. And I find it really fucked up thatā¦
āThis is what happened, okay? This is how it happened. This is exactly how it happened. And I donāt know how the fuck he came up with what he came up with. But Iām gonna tell you what happened.
āI saw this motherfucking bougie motherfucker riding on a fucking golf cart in an airport to his gate. I ended up at a gate really close to him. I went up to him. I said, āWes, whatās up, brother? I miss you. I havenāt seen you in forever. How have you been?ā Good,ā this, that and the other thing. Iām, like, āWhere are you headed?ā Heās, like, āIām headed home ā to Los Angeles.ā And Iām, like, āHey, motherfucker, that aināt home. Remember ā youāre from Jacksonville, fucking Florida.ā Thatās how it went down.
āHave you seen the interview? Have you heard the podcast? Thatās how it went down.
āBrother, donāt forget where the fuck youāre from. Youāre from Jacksonville, Florida. Youāre not from Los Angeles, fucking California. Youāre from Jacksonville. Youāre a real person. Youāre not the plastic, fucked-up people that live in fucking Los Angeles.ā
āAnd for that ā for that ā for reminding my brother, one of the people that are responsible for me standing in front of you this evening, reminding my fucking brother where the fuck heās fromā¦ And now Iām the biggest piece of shit to ever fucking walk the face of the earth. So, you know what?Ā Wes Borland, you bougie motherfucker, I give all the credit to this next song toĀ FredĀ [Durst]. Fuck you.ā
So it seems like Lewis has his own version of the events.
