NAPALM DEATH Frontman Gets Political In Front of SLAYER's Crowd: "Equality and Dignity For All Fucking People"

A great speech from a great man.

A great speech from a great man.

Last night was Slayer's final North American tour stop in San Jose, CA (don't worry, it seems more are coming). For the second leg of the tour, legendary grindcore act Napalm Death was opening all the dates.

Napalm Death have never hid their political leanings – frontman Barney Greenway has spoken out for veganism, against homophobia and against Trump.

In between numbers, Barney decided to make a political statement:

Humanity equals dignity and equality for all human beings without exception, each and every one. No matter how they might look, how they might seem to you, or from wherever they have traveled – equality and dignity for all fucking people. It's the only way forward."

Here's the footage via Kevin Gill:

It's not easy to put together what exactly Barney was referencing. (Update: A few fans have pointed out he's made this statement on every stop of the tour.) With the show being a drive away from the Mexican border, it's easy to see how Barney's words would be in reaction to families who are attempting to immigrate into the U.S., seeking asylum and being locked away. More than 500 children are still separated from their families, with over 300 of those parents already deported. The damage of separating these young children from their families has had severe consequences on some of these kids.

Some might even find the reaction from the audience interesting. These are Slayer fans, and also Californians, and you mostly hear cheering for his statement. Then again, it's not like Slayer guitarist Kerry King is a fan of Donald Trump.
