Every Metallica show, there is an interlude where guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo jam out for a few minutes while James and Lars presumably take a break. In the past, they've covered UFO, Black Sabbath, Queen and others.
At their stop in Minneapolis last night (Sept. 4th), Rob and Kirk paid tribute to hometown hero Prince with a rendition of "When Doves Cry," that even got the locals in the crowd getting into it. Fun stuff. Here are Metallica's remaining tour dates:
