We've talked about how the president of Indonesia, Joko Widodo is a renowned metalhead – a few months ago he even got a Metallic gift from the Danish prime minister.
Now, with Megadeth playing their country next year, the band extended an invitation to Joko and governor Ganjar Pranowo:
We are hoping Indonesian President, Joko Widodo @jokowi and Governor, Ganjar Pranowo @ganjarpranowo will accept our invitation to see us perform in Jogjakarta on Oct 27. We can't wait to play @jogjaROCKarta and meet you both there.

Interestingly, the governor responded. Google Translate says he writes "In fact, I love Megadeth and will watch, God willing."

We will keep you posted if they actually show up.
Joko was in the news a few years ago when metal luminaries like Tony Iommi and Napalm Death's Barney Greenway tried to reach out to Indonesian president and renowned metalhead Joko Widodo to spare the lives of two metalheads, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, for attempting to smuggle heroin. The two ended up being executed leading to Guns N Roses frontman Axl Rose calling Joko a coward.
