When I was a teen, Creed were the antithesis of everything I enjoyed in music. And, they were the biggest rock band in the world at the time – so it made it really hard to avoid them.
No song was more inescapable than "Higher." Anywhere I went – the supermarket, the pharmacy, rock radio – "Higher" was there. I couldn't stand it.
Today, Samus Paulicelli released a short clip of himself goofing off and adding blast beats to "Higher" and it actually seemed tolerable for half a second. Then, Scott Stapp's voice reminded me of how triggered this song gets me.
