After two collaborations and a live album, legendary drone act Earth is returning with a new full-length titled Full Upon Her Burning Lips due out May 24. Earth is streaming their new song "The Colour Of Poison" now, which has a pretty serious Black–Sabbath-meets-Sleep vibe to it.
The new Earth record is just guitarist Dylan Carlson and percussionist Adrienne Davies, which Carlson says served the record well.
"In the past I’ve usually had a strong framework for an album. This one developed one over the course of the writing and recording. It just felt like ‘Earth’—like just the two players doing their best work at playing, serving the music."
Earth's 2014 record Primitive And Deadly was recorded as a trio with bassist Bill Herzog, who does not appear on Full Upon Her Burning Lips. Catch Earth on tour this May and June with Helms Alee.
