And they say true romance is dead – not in the Cooper household. Alice Cooper recently told The Mirror that he and wife Sheryl Goddard are “going to go together.”
Cooper has been married to his wife for 43 years and says:
“We’ve made a pact – there is no way of surviving without each other.
“I couldn’t live without her. We always said there will never be a time when one of us will be mourning the other.
“Whenever it does happen, we are going to go together.
“I’ve been married 43 years to the greatest girl in the world. We have never cheated on each other.”
The two met when Sheryl was a dancer and danced at one of his shows in 1975. Cooper claims she dances better now than back in the day, and she still goes on the road with him.
Cooper, who is 71, has no plans of dying soon and points to his mother, who is 96-year-old as his inspiration for living. Cooper claims he weighs the same as he did when he was 30, and has never smoked and hasn't had a drink in 37 years.
Keep on livin', Alice. The world is a better place for it.
Update: Apparently, Cooper felt his comments were taken out of context by The Mirror and clarified what he meant to USA Today:
“What I was meaning was that because we’re almost always together, at home and on the road, that if something did happen to either of us, we’d most likely be together at the time. But neither of us has a suicide pact. We have a life pact.”
