Things have been quiet in the Killswitch Engage camp recently. Back in August the band had announced they were writing new material and have been quiet ever since. Today, bassist Mike D'Antonio checked in with an update, stating the band has eight demos done and are about to kick things into high gear:
"KILLSWITCH ENGAGE should be in the studio in February/March, so expect a summer 2012 release for the new record. We have a bit of a breather in the writing schedule so Adam [Dutkiewicz, guitar] can finish [producing] the [new] SHADOWS FALL record, but as of now we have eight demos finished for the new record. Everything is coming together nicely at the moment… My demos are pretty fast. Blast beats, anyone?"
It feels like it's been forever since we've heard new music from the band. Personally, my interest has wained a bit in the last few years as the band went for a more accessible sound. However, the promise of blast beats does have me intrigued. [via Blabbermouth]
