According to a posting at Blabbermouth, Scott Ian has announced to the official ANTHRAX fan club that Joey Belladonna has opted to leave the band and was not interested in recording any new material with the group. Scott had this to say:
We were offered a direct support slot on a major tour this spring and Joey [Belladonna, vocals] decided he did not want to move forward. The reunion is over. We tried to make it work but I guess that's the problem, you can't 'make' something work. It's gotta be natural and at least becoming a band again and playing live was.
He then went on to strongly suggest that the band will be reuniting with John Bush to record another record. With their recent releases of best-of compilations barely outselling any garage band with less distro than them, its hard to see how much of a future there is for Anthrax. I went there! After the jump, check out Episode 302 from our Vault, as METAL Injection was there at the press conference when Anthrax reuinted (FF to about 28 minutes in)
