Sean Reinert, founding drummer of Cynic and one-time drummer in Death has passed away. Reinert was found unresponsive in his home late Friday night, January 24th.
No cause of death is known at this time. Blabbermouth confirmed the news.
Reinert was in Cynic until 2015. He joined Death in 1991 and performed on the legendary album Human, before returning to Cynic. With Cynic, he released Focus, Traced In Air, Kindly Bent to Free Us and the EPs Re-Traced and Carbon-Based Anatomy. In recent years, Reinert was involved with Los Angeles prog rock outfit Perfect Beings.
We are deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Sean's family and friends.
RIP Sean Reinert, my friend for 30 + years and one of the best drummers on the planet. Someone make it stop…..I cant believe this…..
