Gojira drummer Mario Duplantier has been hitting the studio recently to track some new drum compositions. Duplantier first unveiled the studio version of his summer tour drum solo, and now he's back with a composition titled "Minotaur."
Here is another drum composition I recently created. I named it “ Minotaur”. This solo has been composed around a drum pattern I particularly love, the alternate single stroke roll “between the hands and the feet”.
I’ve never used it with Gojira, but this effect can be spectacular.
Gojira spent some time in 2019 in the studio, presumably tracking their new full-length due out this year.
