Dragonforce released their new album Extreme Power Metal in 2019 and, given the current situation, are already working on a new album. Guitarist Herman Li tells Ultimate Guitar that Dragonforce is working on a new record while in quarantine, but it won't be out for a little while.
"We were originally not planning to work on any new songs. I was supposed to still be on tour right now. But we actually started writing new songs already. You have to take that time away to write new songs. Now that we've been sort of forced away, we've started to write new songs together. So we're already working on songs for a new album which isn't going to be out for ages."
The new Dragonforce record will be their first since Sonic Firestorm in 2004 to be without bassist Frédéric Leclercq. Dragonforce has not yet named a permanent replacement, but has had bassist Alicia Vigil filling in for what little shows they've played in 2020.
