Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have been busy as of late and their hard work is being recognized by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Today, it was announced the two have two nominations in the Best Original Score – Motion Picture category. They are competing against themselves!
The duo were nominiated for their scores of Disney Pixar's Soul (alongside Jon Batiste) and their work on David Fincher's Mank.
They are nominated against: Alexandre Desplat for The Midnight Sky, Ludwig Göransson for Tenet, and James Newton Howard for News of the World.
Reznor and Ross previous won the Best Original Score – Motion Picture Golden Globe award for their work on 2011's The Social Network. They were nominated two other times, in 2012 for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and in 2015 for Gone Girl.
Additionally, the duo have won an Oscar and Emmy. Not a bad side hustle for Reznor.
