Metallica finally got the closest they've ever come to playing the Super Bowl, and that was playing the Super Bowl post-show on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. You can check out the band's performance of "Enter Sandman" above, which as Colbert points out features speaker cabinets from different tours and special Metallica performances in the background.
As a reminder, if you are still holding out hope that Metallica plays the actual Super Bowl halftime show, it's never going to happen.
