Fred Durst Debuts New Look at Lollapalooza; LIMP BIZKIT Unveil New Song "Dad Vibes"

limp bizkit fred durst new look

The internet went wild last week when Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst unveiled his new look. Gone is the backwards red baseball cap and replaced with a look that can best be described as an extra from the Beastie Boys "Sabotage" video or perhaps somebody in the witness re-location program.

Durst unveiled the new look live this weekend during the band's set at Lollapalooza. Is Limp Bizkit back in style again? At the top of the set, Durst said something to the affect of "This isn't Woodstock '99, fuck that shit. But we're going to party like it's 1999." Which really made me feel old.

Anyway, here is the band's full set from the show:

The setlist and times:
0:02 Thieves (Ministry cover)
3:52 Break Stuff
9:40 Hot Dog
14:54 Master Of Puppets
15:30 My Generation
20:04 Livin' It Up
27:42 DMX – Party Up, Cypress Hill – Insane In The Brain
30:13 Rollin'
33:10 Nookie
41:52 My Way
46:14 Jump Around
48:43 Faith
50:09 Take a Look Around
55:37 Dad Vibes

One Limp Bizkit fan was nice enough to offer a better mix of the last track the band played, "Dad Vibes."

All we know about the new album is that the hold up has been vocalist Fred Durst's unhappiness with the album over the years, according to guitarist Wes Borland.

"We've probably, in the last 10 years, been in the studio to try and complete the record, I wanna say, seven times, to different studios. And we've been working on stuff, working on stuff, working on stuff. And Fred has been consistently kind of unsatisfied with where vision is, I guess.

"So we've released singles — like we did 'Ready To Go', and we did another single called 'Endless Slaughter' that we put out… We probably have 35 songs recorded instrumentally, and he's done vocals on them and then thrown the vocals away — done vocals and then, 'Fuck this,' [and] thrown it away. So I think he's finally at the point now where he's gonna pick a set of these songs that he's finally cool with and finish 'em and we're gonna finish the record. So, fingers crossed."

Borland added that the new stuff is "the best stuff I've ever done as a musician". As for the album title, Borland said he doubts it'll end up being called Stampede Of The Disco Elephants.

"I doubt it'll be called Stampede Of The Disco Elephants at that point. I will definitely say that the riffs and the music, it's the best stuff I've ever done as a musician, I think. I'm so pleased with the direction the music went, and I love what we did as a band. And I've heard a bunch of his, sort of, demoed vocals over the stuff, and they're great. So I have no doubt that he's gonna come and bring it and it's gonna be a great record."
