Kerry King Thinks SLAYER Retired Too Early

"We [in Slayer] did, and then we quit too early. Fuck us. I know. Fuck me."

Slayer played their final show on November 30, 2020, at The Forum in Inglewood, CA after having been a band for nearly 40 years. Now in a congratulations video to Machine Head for turning 30, Slayer guitarist Kerry King reveals that he thinks the band retired too soon.

King adds he hates not playing shows and seems slightly angry about it.

"Congratulations are in order for my friends in Machine Head. Apparently, it's [been] 30 years, which is quite an achievement. Not a lot of bands get there. We [in Slayer] did, and then we quit too early. Fuck us. I know. Fuck me. I hate fuckin' not playing. Besides the point. This is a Machine Head celebration, and I gotta say. I'm not sure Robb knows this – I think Robb knows this, but if you don't then here you go – the only band I ever demanded to open for Slayer was Machine Head."

All we know is that there's potentially a new band with King, Slayer drummer Paul Bostaph, ex-Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo, and Exodus guitarist (and Slayer live mainstay) Gary Holt somewhere on the horizon.
