Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has been awarded the HN Award from the Hede Nielsen Family Foundation. The award includes a cash prize of DKK 600,000 (about $91,000), which Ulrich has announced he'll be donating to three Danish charities – Dyrenes Beskyttelse, who deal with animal welfare; Kofoeds Skole, who deal with personal and vocational empowerment; and Børns Vilkår, who deal with stopping child neglect.
"So psyched to announce that I'll be donating 200,000 Danish kroner to three different charities in Denmark, thanks to the good folks at the Hede Nielsen Family Foundation.
