DETHKLOK To Headline Adult Swim Festival Block Party

Do you folks like Dethklok? Real Dethklok. From the hills of Columbia.

Dethklok

The Adult Swim Festival Block Party will take place between August 5 and 7 across four separate venues in Philadelphia, PA. Among the festival's headliners is Metalocalpyse's very own Dethklok playing their first show since Adult Swim Festival 2019, which is always good news – the world simply needs more of the band. As for the future of Dethklok, all we know right now is that there's a direct-to-video movie coming sometime hopefully soon. The following is a synopsis of the currently-unnamed movie from Adult Swim published in 2021.

"The power-hungry TRIBUNAL unveils their secret and deadly 'Falconback Project' as the world grows in embattled chaos and the menacing Doomstar breaches the Earth's atmosphere while the mysterious and twisted dissent of a band member threatens the future of Dethklok. Picking up directly after the heroic rescue of Toki Wartooth: Can Dethklok choose between their egos and the greater good of the world to embark on a gauntlet of dangers that will try their very souls and finally write the song that will be their salvation?

"The new movie is created by Brendon Small and Tommy Blancha. The movie soundtrack will be released on WaterTower Music."

So stay tuned. 2022 might be the year of Dethklok! Metalocalpyse originally ran between 2006 and 2013, culminating in The Doomstar Requiem. In 2015, Metalocalypse fans campaigned for one final season of the show. In April 2016, Adult Swim launched a petition to make Adult Swim (you read that correctly) sign the petition to bring back Metaloclypse, as well as launched a live video feed of a fax machine with all entries going directly into a recycling bin. So y'know – they weren't taking it seriously at the time, or they were just frustrated.
