In most instances, Rammstein leaves very little open to interpretation. Let's just say the German industrial titans are pretty straightforward with their feelings. But that's what is so wonderful about music: change the sound a little here, mash a few bits of some other songs over there, plus co-opt an entirely different cultural aesthetic, and—voila!—what you got is one hilarious cover song!
Enter the Italian group Melodicka Bros. There take on Rammstein's classic track "Amerika" features a traditional Americana arrangement driven by twangy banjos and lush mandolins—while snagging a little bit from Ennio Morricone's "The Ecstasy of Gold."
The video does come with an hysterical disclaimer at the beginning, stating: "We sincerely apologize for killing the German language, American culture and Italy’s reputation all in a single video."
I dunno… if you ask me, I think the lads have done us all quite proud! Rammstein, in the meantime, will be doing a staggering amount of touring in 2022 and 2023 in both North America, the UK, and Europe. You can find all dates below:
