Porno For Pyros played their first show in front of a full-scale audience since 1998 at Welcome To Rockville in late May of this year. The reunion was a last-minute addition to the festival after Jane's Addiction (vocalist Perry Farrell's other band) dropped off the bill due to guitarist Dave Navarro dealing with COVID. Porno For Pyros then added a second reunion show for July 30 as part of the Lollapalooza Aftershow series… but now it seems they've been bumped up to headliners of the festival.
According to Consequence, Porno For Pyros has replaced Jane's Addiction as the headliners for the July 31 date of Lollapalooza. Porno For Pyros is still listed as playing the aftershow on July 30, but who knows if that'll change. All we know for sure is that Porno For Pyros has confirmed the news on their Instagram.
The band's lineup for Welcome To Rockville was Perry Farrrell, Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefeno, and Mike Watt. Porno For Pyros reunited for the digital edition of Lollapalooza in 2020, dubbed Lolla2020. The reunion show is also not that surprising considering DiStefano made it known that he and Perkins were working on the follow-up to Porno For Pyros' 1996 (and so far final) album Good God's Urge. And given that this is the band's second performance this year, maybe it means Porno For Pyros is getting back together on a more regular basis?
In the meantime, check out the band's performance at Welcome To Rockville.
