MEGADETH Streaming Thrashy-As-Hell New Single "We'll Be Back," Announces New Album For September

There's a lot to love about this song.

It's finally here! Megadeth is now streaming their new single "We'll Be Back" alongside the official announcement of their new record The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! on September 2. The song is sure to please any old-school fan with its blinding guitar work and relentless heaviness, or at least incite some serious headbanging with a breakdown toward the middle that has a killer gallop riff. "For the first time in a long time, everything that we needed on this record is right in its place," said frontman Dave Mustaine. "I can't wait for the public to get hold of this!"

The video for "We'll Be Back" was produced by Mustaine and is very on-brand with the band's overall war themes. Doubly so with the nuclear explosion implied at the end. Megadeth also mentions that the video is the first in a trilogy, so prepare yourselves for more hopefully soon!

Mustaine recently revealed in an interview with Jose Mangin of SiriusXM Liquid Metal that The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! features bass parts by Steve Di Giorgio of Testament (not LoMenzo) in place of Ellefson. Ellefson was fired from Megadeth back in May 2021 after a highly-publicized sexual affair and was removed from the album. Megadeth has also officially welcomed James LoMenzo as their permanent new bassist. LoMenzo has been filling in with Megadeth live ever since the departure of Ellefson, and was previously in the band between 2006 and 2010.

Pre-orders for The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! are available here.
