Vio-lence announced on social media they have parted ways with guitarist Bobby Gustafson. The band said in a collective post, "Vio-lence and Bobby Gustafson have agreed to part ways effective immediately. The band cites 'logistical difficulties that weigh too heavy to function in a productive manner'. Remaining members all 'thank Bobby for his time in the band and all his Vio-lence efforts. We wish him the very best."
We're not totally sure what that means, but we're glad things seem amicable. Meanwhile, the Bay Area thrash metal OGs will be reissuing their 1988 debut LP Eternal Nightmare this month via Metal Blade Records on October 28. Remastered by Patrick Engel (Impending Doom), the album will be released on vinyl, CD, and cassette, as well as all digital formats.
The reissue includes the entire Eternal Nightmare album as well as 12 live tracks recorded during a set at Slims in Chicago in 2011 as an added bonus. Pre-orders are available here. A teaser video for the reissue has been released by Metal Blade, and you can check it out below.
