Buzzworthy songs that buzz throughout the Gimme Metal office.
Venomous Concept – "Voices"
The awaited return of Napalm Death's Shane Embury and Brutal Truth’s vokiller Kevin Sharp is an auspicious occasion indeed. Blending the metal and HC colors ably, “Voices” is charged with stadium anthemic “hey hey”s’ making it suited for the possibly bloodiest football match in history? The LP hits February via Decibel with pre-orders happening now.
Hellripper – "The Nucklavee"
Scotland’s James McBain is a Gimme fave throughout his career, and now with the third LP imminent, he’s still plowing ahead with his grimy mix of black and thrash metal with the forthcoming Warlocks Grim and Withered Hags! “The Nucklavee” is apparently a Scottish-lore-inspired skinless horse-demon dropping the plague wherever he gallops and continues the great timeline of Hellripper mayhem. Look out for another Gimme DJ takeover by James January 13! Pre-Order Now at Gimme Metal
God Dethroned – "Asmodevs"
Three decades in the bag of existence, Holland’s God Dethroned turn in a surprisingly hook-laden take on their trademark blackened thrash. Abuzz with flurries of filth over relentless pummel, “Asmodevs” ushers in a South American tour with the quartet steering back to Europe for New Years. Henri Sattler’s croak continues to hiss mightily from the abyss, the band in strong form after all these years.
Memoriam – "All Is Lost"
Back with the forthcoming Rise To Power on February 3, this teaser continues some great motion for Memoriam who have been pretty well active the last few years. Of course, it needs to be noted that the band features Bolt Thrower legendary crooner Karl Willetts, and Benediction bassist Frank Healy, and while Memoriam is full of fire, they are a different ballgame. Slicing and surging through definite Scandinavian influences, Memoriam toss in some extra atmosphere and progressive moves throughout their slash attack, Karl is back too for another guest DJ special on Gimme, so mark your cal for January 25 at 11am ET/8am PT and get in that chat with him live. Witchthroat Serpent – "The House That Dripped Blood"
With a title inspired by UK director Peter Duffell’s horror flick (dig the Christopher Lee sample at the top), French doom combo Witchthroat Serpent fire up the stacks and continue their psychedelic journey with an additional guitarist since we heard from them last. Woozy melodic lines snake sideways to the dreamy vocals, distortion and crackle smothering around the sludgy atmosphere to offer a more cinematic take on the likes of High On Fire, Windhand, and others of the ilk. Majestic stuff.

The Devil Wears Prada – Color Decay
Contrast gives art dimension. The juxtaposition of two seemingly disparate elements sparks friction, bringing life to any canvas. The Devil Wears Prada rely on contrast as they nimbly balance metallic turbulence, hardcore spirit, provocatively eloquent lyricism, and melodic exorcism. In between these opposing extremes, the band have fashioned an ever-evolving signature style buttressed by layers of sonic hues. Such dynamic divergence defines the group’s eighth full-length offering, Color Decay [Solid State]. Buy Now at Gimme Radio.
