There seem to be more and more little supergroups forming over the past few years, and in no way is that a bad thing. Mutoid Man are no different.
Above, you're seeing a preview of the artwork for the debut Mutoid Man album, which is a collaboration of Cave In singer/guitarist Stephen Brodsky and Converge drummer Ben Koller. Apparently the duo got together during the summer of 2012 and wrote and recorded a bunch of material and left it at that. Now we've got a name and kinda some artwork, so I would tend to assume we'll be seeing a record from them at some point this year.
I'm pumped for it. Koller is a monster behind the skins, and Stephen is a pretty capable singer and screamer. I caught Stephen doing a bunch of acoustic stuff when he opened up for Thomas Giles in New York actually, which gives me that extra boost of confidence for this; the dude can sing, and Cave In certainly proves he can scream. Not to mention they both bring their own flavor of catastrophic, distorted violence to the table, so hearing them both at once is gonna be… something.
