Metalcore defiants The Devil Wears Prada have announced a deluxe edition of their most recent record, Colour Decay, the band's eighth LP since the release of their debut album Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord in 2006. Colour Decay deluxe features the original album plus ten previously unreleased tracks, including a new song, "Reaching," which commemorates the announcement today with a brand new video, which you can check out below. TDWP vocalist Mike Hranica has suggested that "'Reaching' is a song about unapologetic growth."
"I feel we often hear songs of resilience and strength that don’t really cover the dirty, harder times," Hranica said in a statement. "It takes struggle and failure to better oneself, and I think that’s the soul of this tune."
In that same statement, the band collectively noted that, "We've been so proud of and grateful for Color Decay feedback, and with that, we’re releasing our first deluxe edition in 15 years. Listeners have all chimed in with favorited tracks and we’ve cooked up a bunch of videos; fast forward, we figured we had no choice but to grow the Color Decay universe even bigger."
Among the gems included in the deluxe edition are two new songs—"Reaching" and "Ignorance"; Acoustic versions of Color Decay singles "Sacrifice" and "Salt," plus live tracks and remixes. The new collection will be available on May 5, and a pre-order is available here. (Friendly tip: buy directly from TDWP right here and there are some cash saving options).
The video was co-directed by Christopher Commons & Kate McFerren, both regular TDWP collaborators. McFerren also worked on John 5's video for "Land of the Misfit Toys"
