One year after their highly-influential Tomb Of The Mutilated record in 1992, Cannibal Corpse dropped their Hammer Smashed Face EP. The EP predictably featured the title track alongside "Shredded Humans" from Eaten Back To Life, "Meat Hook Sodomy" from Butchered At Birth, and then covers of "The Exorcist" by Possessed and "Zero The Hero" by Black Sabbath.
"The Exorcist" cover was never performed live, though "Zero The Hero" did make it to the stage a few times in 1993 (and once in 1994). And if you've never heard that crushing rendition of "Zero The Hero," check out footage of the band ripping through it at the Dvorets Sporta Luzhniki in Moscow, Russia on May 25, 1993 above.
The studio version of "Zero The Hero" made it onto Cannibal Corpse's 2003 box set 15 Year Killing Spree, though the live version didn't despite that show being a part of the box.
