The Bleeding – "Chainsaw Deathcult"
Four years later and The Bleeding is back with Monokrator. If you're into all things horrific and bloody, or you just like a good death metal riff as we all do, then "Chainsaw Deathcult" is for you.
Cancer Christ – "Satan Is A Bitch"
I have a strong feelings Cancer Christ is going to be one of the next big metal headliners. Their shows are batshit insane, their music is on par with the visuals, and the concept is pretty unique. What's not to love here?
Coffin Mulch – "Fall Of Gaia"
Coffin Mulch's debut album Spectral Intercession just dropped and you really need to listen to it. Dudes have been toiling away from the past few years dropping a demo, an EP, and two singles, and now we've finally got the full-on destructive package.
Disguised Malignance – "Malignant Visions"
After two crushing demos, Disguised Malignance will release Entering the Gateways on September 29. The Finnish duo is now streaming "Malignant Visions" below, which is a great taste of what cosmic horrors are to come.
Dripping Decay – "Barf Bag"
Dripping Decay will release their new record Festering Grotesqueries on August 17, and you can begin profusely vomiting with "Barf Bag" right now. Just try to get most of it in the toilet, alright?
Graveripper – "Into The Grave"
After two splits and an EP, Graveripper has teamed up with rising record label Wise Blood Records for their blistering debut album Seasons Dreaming Death due out August 25. It'll take your skin right the fuck off.
Innumerable Forms – "The Fall Down"
Innumerable Forms, the band headed up by Justin DeTore, has been on a roll lately with their brand of short-form death doom. The Fall Down follows 2022's Philosophical Collapse and is just plain crunchy.
Krigsgrav – "An Everflowing Vessel"
Krigsgrav is nearly 20 years into their career and they're sounding as fresh as they ever have. Krigsgrav's new album Fires In The Fall is out now and you should probably go get it.
Living Gate – "Internal Decomposition"
Living Gate is dudes from Yob, Amenra, and Oathbreaker making vicious death metal. Now they've got this single and their 2020 EP under their belt, paving the way for hopefully more!
Miserere Luminis – "Le sang des rêves"
Canadian black metal unit Miserere Luminis – featuring members of Gris and Sombres Forêts – took 14 years between their debut album and Ordalie. But it's here, it's incredible, and I think I've listened to it like 20 times this week.
Moonlight Sorcery – "In Coldest Embrace"
Finnish band Moonlight Sorcery debuted in 2022 with two EPs stuffed with Emperor-styled symphonic black metal. Now the band is back with a brand new single (and Deep Purple cover as a B-side), and it also rules. Get into Moonlight Sorcery.
The Mosaic Window – "The Haunting That Follows"
The Mosaic Window's debut album Plight Of Acceptance may very well be one of my favorite records of 2023. It's a great take on melodic black metal and should be listened through, in full, by everyone at least once.
MouthBreather – "You Try To Die"
Hey look, MouthBreather is back and they're as frantic and pissed off as they've ever been! Seriously, this is a great follow-up track to I'm Sorry Mr. Salesman and we're definitely looking forward to more.
Oromet – "Diluvium"
Californian doom unit Oromet just released their self-titled debut album and it's 43 minutes of sludge. And yes, Oromet is only three tracks long despite that beefy runtime. What else did you expect from a doom band?
Power Of Fear – "Walk The Walk"
If you're looking for some ass-kicking hardcore today, Power Of Fear and their track "Walk The Walk" has you covered. Power Of Fear just released their new album A Breed Apart, which as you might've guessed has more teeth-breaking anthems.
Phantom Corporation – "Dead Inside"
Phantom Corporation feels like a thrashier, D-beat-styled answer to At The Gates and it's pretty great. Phantom Corporation just released their debut album Fallout and it's as fiery as its cover would lead you to believe.
Sarmat – "Landform"
Move over Imperial Triumphant, because New York City has a new dissonant death metal band on the scene! Even though Sarmat recruited Imperial Triumphant bassist Steve Blanco for two tracks on this, but whatever. Determined To Strike is out now.
Subterranean Disposition – "Arduous Becoming"
Seven years after their sophomore record, Australian epic doom masters Subterranean Disposition just released their new album Individuation. Now if you'll excuse us, we need to go pillage the remains of a castle or something.
The Sun's Journey Through The Night – "Orion"
Long name, long songs, all worth it. The Sun's Journey Through The Night will release their bleak new record Worldless July 28 and you can begin your journey into the dark with its closer "Orion" right now.
Snuffed On Sight – "Slippin"
Snuffed On Sight is here to make you a bloody part of their pavement on "Slipping". Though what else did you expect from a Creator-Destructor and Maggot Stomp release? Smoke is out July 7.
Uzlaga – "The Harbourside"
Uzlaga takes everything you love about atmospheric, raw black metal and jams it all into songs that rarely exceed three minutes. It's efficient as much as it is bleak! Uzlaga's new album The Sunken Seer is out now.
