Mudvayne reunited after 11 years in 2021 and they've been out playing shows ever since. Though with a live reunion always comes the lingering question of whether or not there will be new material. For Mudvayne, the answer is now a concrete "new material is coming."
In an interview with The Oakland Press, Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray confirmed the band has four new songs in the works and that everyone in the band is getting along great these days.
"We've already been working on some stuff," said Gray. "We've got four [songs] in the pipe. I've written each one of them probably three different times, 'cause it's like nothing's good enough. We're gonna keep pushing. We're all getting along really good. We're all talking. Hopefully we all want the same thing from our music, so we'll see. It's definitely the thing that makes the most sense to do now."
Mudvayne's so-far final album is their 2009 self-titled effort. What will be interesting about the new material is what sound the band leans into. Are we getting more of progressive nü-weirdness that was L.D. 50 and The End Of All Things To Come? Or is it going to be more radio-friendly rock hits like the stuff on Lost And Found and The New Game?
Mudvayne is currently out on the road with Coal Chamber, Gwar, Nonpoint, and Butcher Babies. Get the remaining dates below and get your tickets here.
