Metallica had a busy weekend in New York City, and here's a bit of a recap.
On Saturday, the band performed at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem and absolutely killed it for a concert that was broadcast on SiriusXM's Mandatory Metallica channel (111). At one point in the show, frontman James Hetfield said "This place is rich with musical history and we're going to mess it all up." He was joking of course, and the band totally tore it up with a good combo of old-school and new-school hits. I went into great detail about my experience at the show on the Livecast yesterday, so check that out. Here is the song that got everybody going, including myself, and definitely Howard Stern:

That video was taken by Anthony Cumia of Opie & Anthony fame who coincidentally also tweeted this awesome photo of me hovering behind the legendary Howard Stern:

The next day, the band appeared at Yankee stadium to play out closing pitcher Mariano Rivera, who, for years, would come out "Enter Sandman." So, the band decided to play him out in-person for his last game.
This morning, the band was on the Howard Stern show. I'm listening to it right now, and if anything eventful is spoken of, I'll be sure to update you junkies. Here's some official video:
