The Texas Rangers finally took home their first-ever World Series title last night after beating National League champions Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5. And what better way to celebrate that victory than by collectively belting out Creed's 1999 hit "Higher" in the locker room as everyone gets doused with beer and champagne? Because that's exactly what the Rangers did, and they had a hell of a time.
The Texas Rangers were originally established as the Washington Senators in 1961, and eventually relocated to Arlington, TX with their new name in 1972. So this win has been a long, long time coming. As for Creed, they've got a whole reunion tour lined up for 2024 that (as of right now) does not feature anyone from the Texas Rangers on backing vocals. But maybe that'll change?
