Iced Earth already dropped a new jam on us back in October off their upcoming Plagues of Babylon album and it was good. Now the band has released another tracked titled "Among the Dead," and shocker- it's awesome.

The combination of Iced Earth and Stu Block seemed, to me, to be doomed from the start. Block has a very set style and so does Iced Earth, so my thinking was that the two together would just result into some weird amalgam of Iced Earth and Into Eternity I'd like for one record (2011's Dystopia). I'm also readily admitting I'm wrong here, since this is the second track Iced Earth released off Plagues of Babylon that has been good. "Among the Dead" is a creepy, driving song that really does feel dismal and off-putting in a weirdly cool way. Block's vocals stay down low for the most part, the band chug along fearlessly, and the guitar harmonies are badass. I'm anxious for next month when the record drops!
