SLIPKNOT Will Release Look Outside Your Window In 2024, For Real This Time

"It's definitely arriving next year. You have my word."

Slipknot recorded two albums in 2008 – All Hope Is Gone and the now-mythical Look Outside Your Window. Look Outside Your Window features vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarist Jim Root, percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, and DJ Sid Wilson, and has been described as a massive departure from the band's usually-aggressive sound.

Look Outside Your Window was originally slated for release on Christmas Day 2019, and then again for after April of this year. Obviously the album never surfaced, but now according to percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan it's definitely coming in 2024. For real this time.

"It's definitely arriving next year. You have my word," said Crahan in an interview with NME. "The art's been done. It's been mixed. It's been mastered. It is definitely coming out in 2024 and it's such a great album. Corey [Taylor] is my favourite singer ever, and you'll never hear him sing in the same way as on this album, so it's been worth holding it back. It's such a different, timeless project."

Taylor had previously commented on Look Outside Your Window, also mentioning that it could be out in 2024. He said: "It's actually funny that you bring that up. I was talking to Clown about it the other day and he goes, 'One of the reasons it hasn't come out is because you keep putting shit out which keeps conflicting with when I want to release it!' I was like, 'Fuck dude, why didn't you tell me?' He says, 'Fuck, Taylor – you just got too much shit!' It's sounding like he's got a release date that he can finally lock in and I have promised him that I won't release anything that will ruin that. I think it's going to be next year – finally, man!

He continued: "I just went back and listened to all that stuff and it's so dope and so different. People going into this thinking it sounds like 'Slipknot' Slipknot are so wrong. It doesn't sound like anything Slipknot have ever done, that's why it's its own thing. To me, it really is the long-lost album. The music is so beautiful, it probably has some of my favourite melodies that I've done, and people are really going to dig it. Clown did a really good job."

Crahan also mentioned that there's a documentary on Slipknot's career coming, of which he'll be directing.

"I've harvested relics from our whole career, I've just collected and collected all of it. Let's call it a documentary, but really it could be a film. I've recently signed on with some forces for it and I'm going to get a director too.

"A lot of the footage has already been captured, but there is a lot that still needs to be compiled for it to be what it needs to be. So yes, there's something like that coming, and there'll be a DVD which would be behind-the-scenes too. Also footage for the 25-year anniversary, there would likely be a package for that, and there's going to be a reissue of the album, probably."
