LEG LIFTERS Get CATTLE DECAPITATION Vocalist To Cover A VELVET UNDERGROUND Song

It gets weird really, really fast.

It gets weird really, really fast.

Leg Lifters, the band featuring Justin Pearson of The Locust, Some Girls and Nathan Joyner also of Some Girls, decided at some point they were going to cover Velvet Underground's "Sunday Morning." Who could possibly do vocals for a classic psychedelic song? Obviously the first name that comes to mind is Cattle Decapitation's Travis Ryan!

It's a really, really strange cover that hardly adheres to the original at all, but that's what makes it so awesome. The group's ability to completely reinterpret a song as something all their own. Also they renamed it "Sunday Mourning" because why not? If anything, this cover reaffirms my belief that Ryan is easily one of the best metal vocalists out there right now, if not one of the best period. He has such an odd range and slew of weird techniques that makes him instantly identifiable.

Also you can buy this single for a whopping five bucks.
