If you'll recall, a few weeks ago Metal Injection reported that Deafheaven's vocalist George Clarke announced he'd founded a record label with friend and onetime Deafheaven bassist Derek Prine. The label's name is The All Black Recording Company and its purpose is to expose the world to powerful music that may not have a means of distribution otherwise. The maiden release from the label comes compliments of an Oakland, CA one-man, crusty black metal project called Black Monolith. The release, titled Passenger, is due out sometime this month (April), and the fine folks over at Noisey were kind enough to premier a track from the album called "Gold Watch."
No doubt, many of you reading this are hormonal teenage boys (in reality or in spirit) itching to accuse Black Monolith of being "fagity" or "stopid" because of the its association with another band you don't care for. Hold your horses though, because Black Monolith is the real deal. "Gold Watch" is nearly 8 minutes of punishing, mayhemic, d-beat infused black metal. Maybe this isn't the kind of music that tickles your pickle, but you can't deny its ferocious authenticity. Stream "Gold Watch" below, and, if you like what you hear, keep your eyes peeled for an official release date.
