Acranius vocalist Kevin Petersen has quit the band after 10 years. According to a joint statement from both parties, Petersen is leaving the band to focus more on being a family man. So good on him!
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of our beloved vocalist Kevin Petersen," said Acranius. "For the past 10 years, Kevin has been a driving force behind our music, pouring his passion and soul into every performance. His journey with us has been nothing short of incredible, filled with unforgettable moments and achievements that we will cherish forever.
"Kevin's decision to step down comes from a place of immense love and responsibility. He needs to dedicate more time to his family, who have always supported him unconditionally. While it's hard to see him go, we understand and respect his choice to prioritize his loved ones.
"Kevin, thank you for a decade of dedication, energy, and friendship. You've left an indelible mark on Acranius and on all of us. Though you're stepping away from the stage, you will always be a part of our family.
"Let's all wish Kevin the very best as he embarks on this new chapter of his life. We'll miss you, brother. Keep rocking, wherever life takes you."
Petersen issued his own statement alongside the band's statement, saying: "After 10 Years on stage and around 140 played Shows it's time to say goodbye!
"I can't find any words to explain how hard is it for me to take this decision but on this point in my life I choose my family. My second son is on the way and at this part of my life it's impossible to play shows or tours and be away from my wife and kids! I feel like homesick!
"Acranius is forever in my heart, and i wanna say thank you for all the support, for meeting people and making new friends all around the world, for big festivals, a lot of shows and good times! A very special thanks to Björn for pushing me to the limit and be one of my best frieds for over 10 years!
"But at least, some good news: I will take the time at home and be still a part of the Acranius gang! My new job is the Management."
