Last week, late Slipknot bassist Paul Gray's widow, Brenna testified against his doctor, Daniel Baldi, alleging that Baldi prescribed Paul the anti-anxiety medication Xanex even after it was made obvious that Paul had an addiction.
Baldi was on trial for nine counts of involuntary manslaughter, which he was cleared of today, according to the Des Moines Register.
At the time of Brenna's deposition, Baldi's lawyer noted that only one drug that Baldi prescribed to Paul Gray was found at the scene of the overdoes and it was Suboxone, a medication for people trying to break drug addiction. After two days of deliberation, the jury decided that Baldi was innocent after his defense lawyer made it clear that none of his patients died directly from drugs prescribed by the doctor.
Baldi is not in the clear yet, he still faces many malpractice suits from the families of patients of his that have died.
Neither Brenna Gray or the rest of Slipknot have made any comments on the trial verdict yet. Should they, we will update this story.
