Last year, Metal Injection brought you a story about a book of photos consisting of burly metal dudes posing with their cute wittle puddy tat pals. Since then, The Metal Cats book has conquered the hearts and minds of the nation and garnered coverage from major news outlets like NPR and New York Magazine. The book has recently become available to the public, and there's a release party happening this Caturday the 17th in Brooklyn that's not to be missed.
The party, which is being held at Union Pool, starts a 7:00 PM and will feature an auction, raffle, and performances by Belus, Sea of Bones, and Planning For Burial. Admission is a paltry $7 and 100% of the proceeds from the party will be donated to Bobbi & the Strays – a local no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization. There will be copies of the final pressing of the Metal Cats book available for purchase as well.
Look, I'm not saying you HAVE to come, but if you live in the Big Apple and love good heavy metal and/or cats, you don't really have a good reason not to go. The price is right, the event benefits a great cause, and you'll have the opportunity to call me a metal hipster to my face. I know some of you clowns have probably been itching to do that for a while now. For complete details, check out the event's Facebook page here.
