DREAM THEATER's MIKE PORTNOY Is A Big BLOOD INCANTATION Fan

"Definitely a contender for my AOTY!"

Portnoy BI

Blood Incantation's new record Absolute Elsewhere is turning plenty of heads across the metal world. The record encompasses everything from chruning death metal to elements of krautrock and ambient music, even including some straight up Pink Floyd-flavored passages. It's a divisive record in some death metal circles, but by and large everyone's losing their minds over it (myself included).

One big of Absolute Elsewhere is Mike Portnoy, outspoken metal fan and Dream Theater drummer. Portnoy professed his love of Absolute Elsewhere on his Instagram, writing: "Holy F*ck! Bravo @bloodincantationofficial on the incredible new album #absoluteelsewhere! ???? The brutality of Opeth meets the beauty of Pink Floyd…all in one Epic Prog Metal album (just two 20 min epics!) Definitely a contender for my AOTY! ???? (PS – Greatest Logo Ever!????)"

Who can argue with any of that? Blood Incantation's new record Absolute Elsewhere should be high atop every metal fan's year end list, and yes – Blood Incantation does have one of the best logos in all of metal. If you haven't heard Absolute Elsewhere yet, stream it in all its cosmic glory below.

Even better news, Blood Incantation is doing a lot of touring around Absolute Elsewhere! Catch 'em at one of their many world tour dates below, and get your tickets here.
