Between the Buried and Me fans have never had to wait more than two years between releases of new material, and with the band's last release, The Parallax II: Future Sequence being over two years old, fans are due for new music from the prog outfit.
As they've always done, the band announced via Facebook they will be recording with Jamie King and will be dropping the record probably during the spring or summertime. The prospect of the group hitting the studio in mid-January is really exciting! It'll be interesting to see where the band goes from the Parallax albums, considering technically that story even started with "Swim to the Moon" on their 2009 release The Great Misdirect… so that story and those themes have been running for quite some time.
I guess what appeared to be the band working on new material back in September was true! We'll keep you posted with any updates from the studio.
