Amorphis' album Circle from 2013 was one of my favorites from the group yet, so it's really exciting news that a new album is coming this year! According to Blabbermouth, Amorphis will be hitting up Jens Bogren's Fascination Street Studio in Sweden this April to record the record, which is due out in September.
Also worth noting from the post is that all the lyrics will be written by the group's spiritual mentor, Pekka Kainulainen. Kainulainen said the lyrics will revolve around poetry and themes running through each one to tie songs together into small stories. It sounds interesting enough, but how long has Amorphis had a spiritual mentor and how long has he been writing lyrics? Researching it bears no answers outside the same information over and over again.
