TWISTED SISTER Frontman Puts Late Drummer on Blast & Announces Farewell Tour

"This is the unfortunate reality of irresponsible adult behavior."

The metal and hard rock community were stunned to learn of the passing of Twisted Sister (and Adrenaline Mob) drummer AJ Pero. Pero died of a reported heart attack and leaves behind a trail of uncertainty.

Frontman Dee Snider offered a brutally honest statement on the state of affairs for the band and Pero's loved ones in the wake of his passing:

“This is the unfortunate reality of irresponsible adult behavior. Not only did A.J. Pero have a family history of heart disease, which he allowed to go unchecked, but he did not have a will, left behind two ex-wives, a longtime girlfriend, four children between the three of them, and a mess of an estate to be sorted out. Now, there is infighting, mistrust and dissension amongst the family members about how to handle life after AJ. What a mess. While the legalities of the situation are being sorted out, Twisted Sister is doing a show to raise some money to help the family out in the short-term. This unfortunate situation should be a life lesson to all to take responsibility for the world we create and will leave behind when we are gone.”

While some might consider Dee's statements harsh or disrespectful, perhaps others will see it as a wake up call to either go get checked out or have your will in order just in case a situation like this arises. I truly feel for AJ's children and his ex-wives and girlfriend who now have to fight it out over his estate.

Snider also confirmed that Mike Portnoy will be filling in for the band on their final tour. Coincidentally, it was Pero who filled in for Portnoy when Portnoy decided to leave Adrenaline Mob. We'll keep you posted when dates are announced.
