BLACK SABBATH's Tony Iommi Offers Positive Health Update

No word on why the farewell show was cancelled, but Iommi is okay!

No word on why the farewell show was cancelled, but Iommi is okay!

Black Sabbath was supposed to play one final show in Japan this year before calling it quits as a live act for good. Then the group is supposed to hit the studio, crank out an album one last time and turn the lights out forever on the name Black Sabbath. So not only does it suck majorly that there won't be a farewell show, but fans also became concerned about the show possibly being cancelled due to guitarist Tony Iommi's battle with Lymphoma.

While we're still not sure why the bill was changed from Black Sabbath to just"Ozzy and Friends," we now know that the show wasn't cancelled due to Iommi's health. Phew! Iommi posted the following on his Facebook:

Thank you for all the enquiries about my health, very kind. I’m not sure how the rumour of my being unwell started as I was away on holiday! Once you’ve had something like lymphoma the fear that it will return never leaves, all I can say is that right now I’m fine and have regular blood tests.

So at least there's that. No word on if Black Sabbath will perform somewhere else as the last show ever, or if it's already lights out.
