THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From UNLEASHED, KLONE and More Out Today – 4/28

This edition includes long-running death metal lads, dreamy git-fiddles and more! To the metals…

Bell Witch – Four Phantoms51Wdt5GmZ-L

Genre: Funeral doom
Origin: Seattle, Washington
Label: Profound Lore

Straight up lurching doooooooooooooooooom! Also, these chaps say "FUCK GUITARS!" Bass, drums and the atmosphere between notes. Pretty epic.

Klone – Here Comes The Sunabf8380da9b6e5be540d2d28e5d59a15

Genre: Progressive
Origin: Poitiers, France
Label: Pelagic

Why not keep this atmospheric train rolling? Unlike the funeral doomsters I just mentioned, Klone envelope the listener in a world of dreamy guitars and post-metal crunch. The band sounds a lot like the prettier moments of The Ocean, which is fitting since The Ocean mainman's label put these guys out.

Nightrage – The PuritanCover-Final

Genre: Melodic death metal
Origin: Thessaloniki, Greece/Gothenburg, Sweden.
Label: Despotz

Buy now on Amazon.com

I could see this band pairing well with a modern Haunted, Arch Enemy, or any number of the more melodic Swedish bands we all know and love. Thrashier than their peers at times though, so that should separate them from the pack.

Unleashed – Dawn of the Nine81FvuIRR79L._SL1417_

Genre: Death metal
Origin: Kungsängen, Sweden
Label: Nuclear Blast

Buy now on Amazon.com

This band has twenty-five years of ripping a hole into you under their belts and they don't seem like they'll ever stop tearing away. I was surprised to find out that this wasn't their ninth album, which I'm pretty thankful for. It would have been a bit on the nose. Fans of these blackened death metal titans shan't be disappointed, or left standing.
