ENFOLD DARKNESS Posts A New Song, Announces New Album And Label

Holy shit this is blackened doom metal at its finest.

Holy shit this is blackened doom metal at its finest.

Enfold Darkness has been generally absent from the metal scene since 2009's full-length record titled Our Cursed Rapture. We got a few songs here and there, but by and large not much… until right now when the group has dropped an amazing new track called "The Dirge Of The Surrogate Invictus." Keep in mind this is a pre-production track, according to guitarist Elijah Whitehead.

The track is off the group's upcoming record due out sometime this year via The Artisan Era, a label that beholds such awesome bands as Inferi and Oubliette. Remember that this next record is the record that all of you made happen! Anyway, less talk and more track.

It's like Behemoth but a little bit slower and a lot longer. With all the time off and the member changes, dudes have clearly put in the effort to make five years worth of waiting totally worth it! This is a far cry from the speedy blackened death metal the group originally had become known for, but honestly I'm digging this a lot more than the old stuff. It has a lot more weight to it- there's just more of this evil, syrupy-meets-slugy flow to it rather than being jam packed with riffs.

Evil lives and its name is Enfold Darkness.

In the event you're still curious about the group, here's another pre-pro song from 2012 called "Lairs of the Ascended Masters," which I've been told will also be on the upcoming record.
