INCITE: The Metal Injection Studio Update

Incite, the thrash meets groove, meets capital-HEAVY-metal warriors, just finished recording their fourth full length album with acclaimed producer Steve Evetts [The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicide Silence] last week, at Omen Room Studios in Southern California. I caught up with the band and Evetts as they put the final touches on the album to get the inside scoop on this yet to be titled new monster. When the frenetic band with the high octane live show teams up with the studio wizard who's renowned for capturing some of the wildest performances in all of metal, you know you're in for something special.

When asked to describe their latest studio adventure, Incite frontman Richie Cavalera says proudly, "This record has the aggressiveness that you’ll find on every Incite record…on steroids. We’ve always missed that album that compares to our live show," he says. "The CD’s killed you but it was always kind of missing something, I think on this one we’re getting it 100%. They’re going to see us live and hear this thing and say holy shit this is the same intensity. I think this is the album that the metal community has been waiting for us to make."

Richie, along with guitarist Dru, bassist El, and Lennon on drums, spent most of October collaborating with Evetts in and outside the studio to bring their new record to life. "He [Evetts] came to Arizona for pre-production; which is something we’ve never done before," Cavalera reveals. "That was about a week of going through every song in full detail. He’d be there just rocking out with us. I'm thinking, 'This dude’s like a fifth member of the band right now ya know?!'" Lennon adds that working with Evetts, "…has definitely brought out the players in us."

Incite is currently on the road with Soulfly, Crowbar and Shattered Sun. Expect their wild and heavy new tunes sometime in early 2016 via Minus Head Records.
